1999 EMERGENCY PLAN EXERCISE OBJECTIVES AND EXTENT OF PLAY DESCRIPTION

Dear Mr. Gambhir:

This letter acknowledges receipt of your letter dated May 12,1999, and the enclosed objectives for Fort Calhoun Station's emergency plan exercise scheduled for August 10,1999.

Based on our review, we determined that the exercise objectives are appropriate to meet emergency plan requirements. The extent of simulation to be used during the exercise was discussed fierther with Mr. C. Simmons of your staff on June 7,1999. Mr. Simmons provided satisfactory responses. We contacted the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Region Vil, during our review. Ms. Wisniewski did not have any comments regarding the exercise objectives.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this letter will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
