Dear Mr. Gambhir:
The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No.191 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-40 for the Fort Calhoun Station, Unit No.1. The amendment addresses an unreviewed safety question (USQ) in response to your application dated September 28,1998, as supplemented by letter dated March 12,1999.
The amendment authorizes the revision to the licensing basis as described in the Updated Safety Analysis Report to incorporate the modification for overriding the containment isolation actuation signal closure signal to the reactor coolant system letdown flow containment isolation valves.
A copy of the related Safety Evaluation is also enclosed. The Notice of Issuance will be included in the Commission's next biweekly Federal Realster notice.
