EVALUATION OF THE SECOND TEN-YEAR INTERVAL INSPECTION PROGRAM PLAN REQUEST FOR RELIEF 95-050, REVISION 1 - CRYSTAL RIVER NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT, UNIT 3 (TAC NO. M94772)

Dear Mr. Anderson:

By letter dated February 6, 1996, as supplemented January 15, 1997, you submitted Relief Request (RR)95-050, Revision 1, relating to inspection of the core flood nozzle-to-vessel welds. With technical assistance from our j contractor, the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory (INEL), we have reviewed and evaluated your ' submittal. Based on our review, we have concluded that a your RR is authorized by law and will not endanger life or property, or the

common defense and security, and is otherwise in the public interest given due i

consideration to the burden that could result if the requirements were imposed '

on your facility. Therefore, relief is granted pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55a(g)(6)(i). Our evaluation and conclusions are contained in Enclosure 1.

Enclosure 2 is the INEL Technical Letter Report. i l

This completes our effort under Technical Assignment Control (TAC) No. M94772 )

and, therefore, the TAC is closed.  !
