1.0 PURPOSE  AND SCOPE The purpose  of this document is to specify the plant specific design bases, functional requirements, and functional design or the QSPDS for St. Lucie Vnit 1. This document, in conjunction with the generic QSPDS func,ional design specification (Reference 1), comprises the functional desion specification. Two other documents, the QSPDS data base document (Reference 2) and the QSPDS display design document (Reference 3), describe the plant specific in ut and data constants aud  dis la s.

3.0 DESIGN BASES The  design bases for the St. Lucie Unit 1 QSPOS are a subset of the design bases of the generic QSPDS functional design specification (Reference 1). Briefly, these functions are:
: 1. Safety grade processing and display of the      ICC variables.
: 2. Isolation of Class lE inputs into the non Class 1E Safety Assessment System (SAS) which is not in C-E scope.
: 3. Human  factor engineered display  system.
3.1 DESIGN BASIS EVENTS The  St. Lucie Vnit 1 design is the    same  as specified in the generic functional desion of Reference 1.
 
4.0 SYSTEH FUHCTIOHAL REQU'.RE!'lEHTS St. Lucie Unit 1 incorporate'es the ICC functional requirements contained in'Section 4.1 of Re r nce 1. The backup SPOS function is.not included in the St. Lucie Unit 1 gSPOS design.
5.0 SYSTEM FUHCTIOHAL DESCRIPTIOH The  St. Lucie Unit 1 design is not part of the standard Accident Honitoring System. configuration described in Reference l. The gSPOS equipment is functionally the same as iG Reference~(ajthough some hardware differences exist). The gSPOS is not connected to the Critical Function t~ionitoring System as described in Reference 1. The gSPDS does data link the ICC inputs and calculated variables and any other input variables defined by FPEL. The reader must read the functional design documentation or the primary computer system, the Safety Assessment System (SAS) to which the gSPDS is connected, to understand the role of the gSPOS data link outputs.
The gSPDS has    a capability of acceptino the following types of inputs per channel:
: 1. 40  high level analogs.
: 2. 12  high level  SNM analog inputs.
: 3. 31 Type K  thermocouple  inputs.
HJTCS  inputs (16 Type  K  inputs).
6.0 SYST:-!l DESIGH REQUIRE!~ENTS Following are the gSPDS design requirements for St. Lucie Unit    1  as compared to the oeneric system design reouirements in Reference    1.
