On August 29, 2018, a Category 1 public meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and representatives of Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC (Duke Energy, the licensee) via teleconference.
ENERGY TO DISCUSS A PLANNED LICENSE AMENDMENT REQUEST TO REVISE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 4.2.2, "CONTROL ROD ASSEMBLIES,"
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the licensee's planned license amendment to revise technical specification (TS) 4.2.2, "Control Rod Assemblies," to permit operation with one less than the required number of control rods during the upcoming operating cycle for the McGuire Nuclear Station, Unit 2. The meeting notice and agenda, dated August 24, 2018, are available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at Accession No. ML 18239A016.
