SUMMARY

OF APRIL 14, 2015, PUBLIC MEETING ON CALCULATION OF RISK FOR NFPA-805 FIRE AREAS CREDITING CONTROL ROOM ABANDONMENT On April 14, 2015, a Category 1 public meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff and representatives of Duke Energy (the licensee) at NRC Headquarters, One White Flint North, 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland. The purpose of the meeting was for the NRC staff to discuss with the licensee staff the licensee's proposed method for estimating the change in risk associated with fires that might result in main control room abandonment on loss of control. The meeting notice and agenda, dated March 31,.2015, are available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at Accession No. ML15103A005. A list of attendees is enclosed.

The licensee provided slides for its presentation (ADAMS Accession No. ML15099A587).

During the meeting the licensee discussed each of the slides in its presentation. In response to the NRC staff's questions, the Duke Energy staff provided multiple clarifications. At the conclusion of the meeting, the NRC staff indicated that it would review the currently available information and determine whether further requests for information are needed.

Members of the public were in attendance. Public meeting feedback forms were not received.
