Victor Dricks, 817-200-1128 NRC Schedules Regulatory Conference to Discuss Violations At Providence Alaska Medical Center Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will meet with officials from Providence Alaska Medical Center on April 3 to discuss apparent violations identified by NRC inspectors involving a medical event at the center in Anchorage, Alaska.

The 1 p.m. CDT meeting at the NRCs Region IV office at 1600 East Lamar Blvd., Arlington, Texas, is open to public observation. NRC officials will be available to answer questions from the public following the business portion of the meeting. The purpose of the pre-decisional enforcement conference is to discuss three apparent violations of NRC requirements identified in a Feb. 2 inspection report related to a medical event that involved the administration of radioactive yttrium-90 to a patient on June 14, 2017.

No decision on the final safety significance of the violations or any additional NRC actions will be made at the meeting. That decision will be announced at a later time.
