Victor Dricks, 817-200-1128 NRC Proposes $8,000 Fine to Advanced Inspection Technologies Inc.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has proposed a $8,000 fine to Advanced Inspection Technologies Inc. of Tulsa, Oklahoma, for two violations of NRC requirements.
The apparent violations were discussed with company officials during a telephone conversation on Feb. 2 and documented in a Feb. 15 inspection report and an accompanying letter.
The violations involve the companys deliberate failure to file the required application and fees for proposed activities in another state.
In a written response to the NRC on March 8, company officials discussed the apparent violations, their significance, their cause, and corrective actions. Based on the information collected during the inspection and the companys response, the NRC has determined that two violations of agency requirements occurred. NRC notified the company and its president of its decision in two June 14 letters.
The company has 30 days to dispute the fine or request involvement of a third-party mediator to resolve the issue.
