Victor Dricks, 817-200-1128 NRC Names New Senior Resident Inspector at Columbia Generating Station The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has selected Chris Roettgen as the new senior resident inspector at the Columbia Generating Station in Richland, Wash.

Roettgen joined the NRC in 2014 as a project engineer in the agencys Region I office in King of Prussia, Pa. He subsequently served as the resident inspector at the Calvert Cliffs nuclear power plant in Lusby, Md. Prior to joining the agency, he served for 10 years as a submarine officer in the U.S. Navy. Roettgen earned a bachelors degree in physics from the U.S. Naval Academy and a masters in applied physics from the University of Maryland.

Each U.S. commercial nuclear power plant site has at least two NRC resident inspectors.

Roettgen joins resident inspector Lindsay Merker, serving as the agencys eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring significant work projects, and interacting with plant workers and the public.
