Victor Dricks, 817-200-1128 NRC Names New Senior Resident Inspector at the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant The NRC has selected Donald Krause as the new senior resident inspector at the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant in San Luis Obispo, Calif.

Krause joined the NRC in 2014 as a reactor engineer in the NRCs Region III office in Lisle, Ill. He also served as the resident inspector at the Monticello nuclear power plant in Monticello, Minn. Prior to joining the NRC, he worked as the manager for regulatory compliance and radiation protection for General Electric Hitachi.

Krause served in the U.S. Navy and is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Nuclear Power Program. He has a masters degree in engineering from the University of Virginia and a bachelors degree in science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Each U.S. commercial nuclear power plant site has at least two NRC resident inspectors.

Krause joins resident inspector Ayesha Athar. They serve as the agencys eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring significant work projects, and interacting with plant workers and the public.
