Victor Dricks, 817-200-1128 NRC Schedules Regulatory Conference with Terracon Consultants The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will hold a regulatory teleconference with officials from Terracon Consultants of Olathe, Kan., on May 20 to discuss five apparent violations identified by the NRC during an inspection.

The teleconference will begin at 9 a.m., Central Time, and will be open to the public. NRC officials will be available to answer questions from the public following the business portion of the meeting. The public will have the opportunity to listen to the meeting and ask questions via a phone bridge by calling 800-988-9484, passcode 2401745#.

The intent of the conference is to discuss the apparent violations identified in an April 1 inspection report. They include the loss from the companys truck of a portable nuclear gauge, which was later recovered by a member of the public, failure to properly control radioactive material and the failure to make timely notifications to the NRC following the loss.

No decision on the final safety significance of the apparent violations or any NRC actions will be made at the meeting.
