PROTEST RELATED TO THE TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF MASS ARREST AT SEABROOK IN 1997 (UPDATE)

On Saturday, April 26, 1997, the Clamshell Alliance 20th anniversary civil-disobedience rally occurred at the Seabrook site.

At about 2:30 p.m., approximately 175 protestors arrived at the South Gate. Forty protestors were arrested for trespassing after climbing the owner-controlled fence. The demonstration and arrests were conducted in an orderly manner.

Region I Public Affairs Office is prepared to respond to media inquires.

The resident inspectors observed licensee's control of and response to this demonstration. j The State of New Hampshire and the. Commonwealth of Massachusetts have been notified.
