EMPLOYEE FOUND WITH MARIJUANA On June 20,1987, about 2:30 a.m. , during a routine tour, the security shift supervisor observed a security guard to be smoking two cigarettes outside of the maintenance building in the south yard of the protected area. Because of the circumstances, the individual's badge and firearm were removed and he was searched. A half-smoked a marijuana cigarette was found in the guard's possession. He was escorted off site and his site access was terminated. Connecticut state police were notified by the licensee.

This guard passed drug screening in October 1986, before being hired. His next regular drug screening was to be in October 1987. The licensee and the security contractor are considering additional drug screening of personnel based on this event. The resident inspector is following licensee actions.

The State of Connecticut has been informed.
