PART 21' REPORT RELATED TO SUPPLT OF WRONG MATERIAL FOR FABRICATION OF SUPPORTS, SOUTH TEXAS PROJECT, UNITS 1
& 2, D!i 50-498; 50-499 On July 11, 1980, Mr. Al Geisler (telephone No. 713/676-8201), Brown & Root, reported a Part 21 item related to the supply of the wrong materials for fabrication of supports used at the South Texas Project.
Mr. Geisler stated
,. that ASTM A668 Class C (AISI 1020 or 1030 chemistry) materials were specified for use in f abrication of the supports by NPS, the support f abricator; however,

AISI 1035 and 1045 chemistry materials have been supplied by Cleveland City Forge and an unidentified supplier, respectively.
It is believed that this may have generic implications.
This matter was reported in accordance with 50.55(e) on July 3,1980, by l
Houston Lighting and Power Company.
