Dear Sir:

Pursuant to 10 CFR S 9.8, I hereby request copies of documents i in the possession of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission relating to 1 a shipment of fuel assemblies from the Western New York Nuclear Service Center to Battelle Pacific Northwest Laboratories which occurred around May-July of 1978. It is my understanding that this transfer was handled.as part of a DOE demonstration project shipment.

Documents requested include any notes, comments and/or reports of inspection of the West Valley facility during this timeframe.

Because the documents requested are important to pending federal court litigation, I would appreciate it if the documents J
