a A. I am a welding and NDE Inspector in the Auxiliary Building and the 6 Turbine Building.

7 Q. SDD1ARIZE YOUR EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS, INCLUDING 8

JOBS WITH DUKE POWER, YOUR EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, 9

AND CO!!PANY SPONSORED COURSES AND TRAINING.

10 A. From 1974-1977 I was a turbine and boiler operator at Duke Power's 11 Allen Steam Station. From 1977-1979 I was an NDE Inspector for 12 Law Engineering Testing Company. From 1979-1981 I was an NDE 13 Inspector at McGuire Nuclear Station. From 1981 to present I have 14 been working at Catawba Nuclear Station as a NDE and Welding 15 Inspector. I am a high school graduate and I have attended 16 courses in welding and NDE inspection.

17 Q. ARE YOU FAMILIAR WITH WHAT IS COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS 18 THE WELDING INSPECTOR CONCERNS WHICH WERE EXPRESSED IN 19 LATE 1981/EARLY 19827 20 A. No, I was an NDE Inspector at that time.

1 Q. DID YOU EXPRESS ANY CONCERNS AS A WELDING INSPECTOR TO 2 ANY OF THE TASK FORCES OR TO DUKE POWER MANAGEMENT?

3 A. No. I was interviewed by Task Force I. They asked about my job 4 position and qualifications. I had no concerns then and to this day 5 have no concerns about the quality and safety of Catawba.

6 Q. IN YOUR VIEW, HAS THE QA PROGRAM BEEN EFFECTIVE WHILE 7 YOU HAVE WORKED AS AN INSPECTOR AT CATAWBA?

8 A. Yes.

9 Q. ARE YOU AWARE OF ANY DEFICIENCIES IN CONSTRUCTION OR IN 10 THE QA PROGRAM WHICH WOULD CAUSE YOU TO QUESTION 11 WHETHER CATAWBA IS SAFELY BUILT?
