Interim Report of 10CFR50.55(e) on Defects in Ecerline Instnumnt Corporation Radiation Monitoring Equipent (#67)

Dear Mr. Keppler:

On April 23, 1982, Detroit Edison's Mr. H.A. Walker, Supervisor-Construc-tion Quality Assurance, telephoned Mr. H. Wescott of NRC Region III, to report on a problem with defects in Eberline Instrument Corporation Radia-tion Monitoring Equipmnt at the Fermi 2 site.

This item deals with defects in Eberline Instrument Corporation's radia-tion monitoring equipmnt which had been supplied to the Fermi 2 site. A letter was received frcxn the NRC site resident inspector docu:mnting a 10CFR21 report on the Eberline Instrument problem. Although the letter indicates Detroit Edison was notified of the problem by Eberline, we have not been able to locate the report or the letter. Detroit Edison has verified that the affected equipent was received, and was in use at the Fermi site.

Another report on this item, either interim or final, is scheduled to be sent to you on or before September 17, 1982. If you have questions con-cerning this matter, please contact Mr. H.A. Walker, Supervisor-Construction Quality Assurance.

Very truly yours,

/'
