"Limitorque-Limit Switch' Rotor Failures" This letter amends Detroit Edison's final. report of Item 76, "Limitorque Limit-Switch Rotor-Failure".- This' item was originally reported as a potential'deficiencyxon July 31,-

1982, and was subsequently documented in References (2), (3) and (.4).

The number of motor operated valves with cracked limit switch assemblies was 17. This number was previously identified incorrectly as 16.

Reference-(4) stated, under corrective action, that Field Modification Request-(FMR) #S-5717 was written to replace

-theTdefective limitiswitch assemblies identified in the in-spection on1Limitorque operators'outside-the primary F . containment. Although the intent >at the time was to replace the defective litait ' switch assemblies, the disposition permitted either repair or-replacement.of the defectiie limit switches. 3 Subsequently, fit was determined that the assemblies could be' repaired. - Therefore, the action taken for Limitorque operators located outside the primary 7
