Westronics Recorders - Model 2100C A recent Electromagnetic Interference susceptibility test conducted on a representative sample of Westronics Series 2100C recorders indicated that the recorder was susceptible to interference caused by a radiated field strength of 10 V/m as defined by SAMA Standard PMC 33.1, Class 2.
The recorder was not susceptible to Class 1 radiation level of 3 V/m.
The following failure modes may be exhibited by the recorders in service:
1.
There are momentary changes in the displayed and/or trended values.
Recorder continues to function properly otherwise.
2.
Recorder CPU experiences a reset.
Following the reset, the recorder continues to function properly.
- 3. The recorder fails to respond to changes in the input signals.
Displayed and trended values of the input signals remain at a constant value.
There is no automatic recovery until the recorder is manually reset or recorder power is turned off and back on.
l 4.
The recorder locks up.
There is no automatic recovery until the recorder is manually reset or recorder power is turned off and back on.

The interference path was traced to the Signal Input Transition printed circuit board assembly, Westronics part number CB100256C01.
The subject circuit board assembly has been redesigned to improve the recorder's immunity to electromagnetic interference, and preliminary tests have indicated that the recorder i
will be able to meet the requirements of the referenced standard.
l The new printed circuit board assembly may be obtained by contacting Recorder Service f
