AP600 REACTOR COOLANT PUMP FLYWHEEL ANALYSIS REPORTS (WCAP-13734 AND WCAP-13735)

Dear Mr. Borchardt:

Enclosed are copies of two Westinghouse reports documenting the analysis of the flywheel in the AP600 reactor coolant pump. These reports are provided in support of Request for Additional Information 251.11 and represent the flywheel structural analysis referenced in our original response.  !

The response for Q251.11, revised to reference the specific report number, is provided under separate cover with other responses to Requests for Additional Information. The report also supports the responses to RAl's 251.6,251.7,251.14,251.16,251.17,251.18, and 251.19. These responses do not have to be revised to incorporate the report number.

The enclosure includes:

1. WCAP-13734, " Structural Analysis Summary for the AP600 Reactor Coolant Pump High Inertia Flywheel," (Proprietary).
2. WCAP-13735,
  • Structural Analysis Summary for the AP600 Reactor Coolant Pump High Inertia Flywheel," (Non-Proprietary).

Enclosed with Mr. Hasselberg's copy of this letter are twenty copies of WCAP-13734 and three copies of WCAP-13735. The Westinghouse Electric Corporation copyright notice, proprietary information notice, application for withholding and affidavit are also attached.

This submittal contains Westinghouse proprietary information consisting of trade secrets, commercial information or financial information which we consider privileged or confidential pursuant to 10CFR Section 2.790. Therefore, it is requested that the Westinghouse proprietary information attached hereto be handled on a confidential basis and be withheld from public disclosures.
