advising you of a reportable occurrence.in accordance--with~Technical.

Specification 6.9.1.8.i. On January 11, 1978 four (4) service water pump strainers were lost within a one-half hour period. This event prompted an investigation that was completed on February 28, 1978.

The results of this investigation show that corrective action will be required to prevent reoccurrence of an event similar to that experienced on January 11, 1978. Preliminary results of the inves-

• tigation indicate that the probable cause -'of the January lL, 1978 occurrence was a combination of frazil ice, relatively low tide, and silting=in.the~service_water intake bays.
