March1,2018 (ADAMS Accession No.ML18072A224), and April10,2018 (ADAMS Accession Nos.ML18102A521 and ML18113A132), Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) submitted an application for subsequent license renewal of Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-31 and DPR-41 for the Turkey Point Nuclear Generating Unit Nos. 3 and 4 (Turkey Point) to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) pursuant to Section 103 of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, and Part 54 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Requirements for renewal of operating licenses for nuclear power plants.
The NRC staff is reviewing the information contained in the subsequent license renewal application and has identified, in the enclosure, areas where additional information is needed to complete the review. A clarification call was held on October 4, 2018, to clarify requests for additional information (RAIs) B.2.3.7-3, B.2.3.7-4, B.2.3.7-6, and B.2.3.7-7. No changes to the RAI text were made for RAIs B.2.3.7-3, B.2.3.7-4, and B.2.3.7-7. RAI B.2.3.7-6 was deleted because the issue identified was corrected by FPL in Revision 1 of the subsequent license renewal application.
These requests for additional information were discussed with Steve Franzone of your staff, and a mutually agreeable date for the response is within 30 days from the date of this e-mail.
