SUMMARY

OF THE NOVEMBER 19, 2008, MEETING WITH NORTHERN STATES POWER COMPANY TO DISCUSS THE NOVEMBER 5, 2008, APPLICATION FOR AN EXTENDED POWER UPRATE AMENDMENT (TAC NO. MD9990)

On November 19, 2008, a Category 1 public meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff and representatives of Northern States Power Company at

!\\IRC Headquarters, Two White Flint North, 11545 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland. The purpose of the meeting was for the licensee to provide an overview to NRC reviewers of the November 5, 2008, license amendment application regarding an extended power uprate to 120 percent of the original licensed power. A list of attendees is provided as an enclosure.

The licensee's presentation and handout material (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML083240836) included the following topics:

1) background information, 2) the format of the application, 3) environmental aspects,

4) overview of changes from the previous submittal, and 5) overall schedule. The NRC staff did not convey any major comments on the licensee's description of the extended power uprate application.

Members of the public were in attendance. No portion of this meeting was closed to the public because no proprietary information was used by the participants. Before the meeting adjourned, members of the public were given the opportunity to communicate with the NRC staff both verbally and through the use of public meeting feedback forms. No comment or feedback was received.
