NOTICE OF DEVIATION Gulf States Utilities Docket: 50-458/85-51 River Bend Station Permit: CPPR-145 During an-inspection of River Bend Station conducted 'during the period June 15 - August 15, 1985, a deviation from a commitment was identified. This deviation involved the failure to test as committed in the Final Safety Analysis Report, Chapter 14. In accordance with the " General Statement of Policy and Procedure for NRC Enforcement Actions," 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C (1985),thedeviationislistedbelow:

The River Bend Station FSAR, paragraph 14.2.12.1.44.1.b, states, in part, that cae test objective of the emergency core cooling system integrated initiation' during loss of offsite power preoperational test is, "To .

demonstrate the ability of the RHR, LPCS, and HPCS system to realign and inject rated flow to the vessel..."

In deviation from the above, completed preoperational test procedure'

1-PT-210 " Integrated Emergency Core Cooling System and Loss of Offsite Power," did not demonstrate that the RHR system will realign and inject to the vessel from the test mode. (458/8551-02)

In accordance with Appendix C to 10 CFR Part 2, Gulf States Utilities is requested to provide within 30 days a written explanation or statement
