Licensee Action on Previous Inspection Findings (0 pen) Unresolved Item 50-413/80-24-02 and 50-514/80-20-02):
" Curing Compounds on Construction Joints".
Curing compounds were used on construction joints in apparent conflict with referenced paragraph 12 of ACI 301-72. Responsible design engineers claim that their design methods do not take credit for bond.
Construction joints are now being water cured. Specification CNS-1109.01 is being revised to clarify curing requirements and design calculations for safety related

structures are being reviewed. This item remains open pending examination

by RII:IE of the design calculations review.

" Internal Pressure on Electrical Penetrations".
The licensee is having difficulty meeting the specified gas pressure requirements of 15 Psi at 72 degrees fahren! Lit.
Discussions with respon-l sible engineers and examination of site memo number ii-1361.00 disclosed that revised gas pressure requirements will be issued oy October 3, 1980.
This item remains open pending examination by NRC RII:IE of the revised l
storage controls.

Independent Inspection The inspector examined ongoing work activities in Units 1 and 2, the soils and concrete testing laboratory, the concrete batch plant and results of work on the standby nuclear service water dam.
No deviations or items of noncompliance were identified.

Lakes, Dams and Canals - Review of Quality Assurance Implementing Pro-cedures - Units 1 and 2 The inspector performed a followup examination of procedures sad specif-ications concerning control of the standby nuclear service *iater pond dam.
Acceptance criteria examined by the inspector appear in section 2.0 and appendix 2g of the PSAR.
