SUMMARY Inspection on April 30 - May 2, 1930 Areas Inspected This special, announced inspection involved 16 inspector-hours on site in the area of installed electrical equipment. This inspection is in conjunction with the office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR) review of near-term-operating-licensing (NTOL) facilities with respect to NUREG 0588.

Electrical Equipment Environmental Review A physical examination, in the area of environmental qualification, was made of installed electrical instrumentation and control equipment. The environmental qualification documentation review for this equipment will be made by NRR. The equipment that was examined is located inside the reactor building and is listed below.

The inspector was informed that the pressurizer pressure transmitters installed in Unit I are Barton model 763, Lot I transmitters. These Lot 1 transmitter are not presently environmentally qualified. To support the pre-operational test schedule, the licensee has begun to -replace the Unit I transmitters with environmentally qualified Barton Model763, Lot 2 trans-mitters from Unit 2.

The Unit 2 transmitters will be replaced at a later date.

After a review of the instrumentation and control equipment installed in Unit 2, and the present sta,tus of construction, it was decided to delay the
