Licensee Identified Items (LII)

The inspector reviewed the status of open electrical LII with site per-sonnel. The following identifies the status of items examined, a.

(Closed) LII 328/81-08-01 and 328/81-02-19 - (TVA No. EEB 8021),

Auxiliary Feedwater System Design Deficiency.

Engineering Change Notices (ECN) 2940 and 2942, and work plans S1407 and S1402 were examined by the inspector. ' Work plan S1407 was completed but had not been processed through Quality Control. Work plan S1408 was still in process of being worked. An in-field inspection was made on seven electrical cables (2PV108A, 2V1020A, 2V1028A, 2V1050A, 2SG240A, 2SG241B

'

and 2SG2425) that were installed as part of the ECN.1 i

b.

(Closed) LII 328/81-02-32 - (TVA No. SWP 8028), Environmental Qualifi-cation of Electrical Equipment, ASCO Solenoid Valves. TVA's final report of January 15, 1981, stated that subject valves would be replaced with Valcor Engineering Solenoid Valves P/N 70900-301. A verification of installation showed that new valves were installed.

c.

(Closed) LII 328/81-13-01 - (TVA No. MEB 8008), Environmental Qualifi-cation of Electrical Equipment, Auxiliary Feedwater Pump Motors. TVA's final report of January 12, 1981 states that TVA has analyzed the auxiliary feedwater pump motors for the expected service environment and determined that the motors are qualified for a minimum of five years. Therefore, no immediate replacement is required. In addition, it should be noted that NRC presently requires that all safety related electrical equipment must be environmentally qualified in accordance with NUREG-0588 by June 30, 1982. TVA is making the necessary arrange-ments to either obtain documentation which substantiates acceptable environmental qualification levels for the motors, or replace these motors with fully qualified equipment by the above deadline, d.

(Closed) LII 328/81-08-02 and 03. These items are being tracked by 328/81-02-17 and 14 respectively.

6.

Status of Inspection and Enforcement Bulletins (IEBs)

(Closed) IEB 80-23, Failure. of Solenoid Valves Manufactured by Valcor Engineering Corporation.

TVA's report of March 31, 1981 states that Sequoyah Unit 2 does not have the IEB referenced valves.

7.

Instrumentation (Cables and Terminations I and II) - Observation of Work, Work Activities and Review of Quality Records The inspector examined th.e installation of the following electrical instru-mentation cables:

2V5610A, 2V5611A, 2PM592J, 2PM593J, 2RM41A, 2RM42A, 2PS89A, 2PS91A, 2PM577I, 2V4917A, 2V8401A, 2V8582A, 2PM3873J, 2PM482J and 2PM1724K.

The work, work activities and quality records associated with routing, termination, nondestructive tests, physical protection and separation, cable, cableway and/or conduit identification for the above cables were examined. Inspection Instruction (II) 28, Cable Pulling, and II-10, Inter-connecting Cable Termination and Insulation Inspection were used in this examination.

Within the areas examined, no violations or deviations were identified.
