A review of Plant Nuclear Safety Committee (PNSC)
files by the! resident inspector turned up memo from the Engineering Supervisor to the PNSC on the subject of Safety Injection-Line Pipe Support, dated November8, 197 This memo traced the same problem identified in LER 79-12, but included IIU
details on how air was most probably trapped in the line to produce a water hammer and,. further-. stated what precautions would be made in the future to ensure that no. air is left in the lin This memo-to, the PNSC in conjunction with-the. LER, report provided sufficien information to'justify closing this LE Therewere no violations. or deviations in this: area of inspection.

IE Bulletin 79-13, Re. The Revision 2 to the Bulletin added additional inspection-requirements which were to be conducted at the nex outage and the results reported to the Commissio The inspections were conducted during the 1980 outage and the radiographs were reviewed at the site by an RIL inspector (see RII Report No. 50-261/80-23). Because of the review of the radiographs by RII, the licensee apparently felt that ful filled the-Bulletin requirement for submittal of inspection result The licensee agreed to correct this inadvertent omission by submitting a formal response as soon as possible..
