Smoke Detector Inoperable as a Result of Planned Maintenance Activities AECM-83/0539 On July 22, 1983, smoke detector N603A in Zone 2-18 on Elevation 119 feet of the Aoxiliary Building was relocated to conform with the electrical raceway drawings. The action statements of Technical Specification 3.3.7.9 were entered and an hourly fire watch was conducted while the planned maintenance activity was performed. The detector was not restored to operability within fourteen (14) days, therefore, this report is being submitted as a Special Report pursuant to Technical Specification 6.9.2.

The detector was relocated on August 27, 1983, and the system was returned to normal operation. The event had no affect on the health and safety of the public and did not constitute a threat to plant safety. This report is a final report.
