Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Unit 1 Docket No. 50-416 License No. NPF-29 Special Report 94-002 Inoperable Wind Direction Indicator GNRO-94/00041 Gentlemen: On 2/28/94, 162' wind direction indicator (SC84N002A) located at the Meteorological Facility did not ' change in response to wind changes. The wind direction sensor was determined to be defective. It was replaced and readings were verified consistent with the "B" wind direction indicator. This sensor was returned to operable status on March 8, 1994 at 0350 hours. The wind direction indicator outage time exceeded the 7 days allowed by Technical Specification 3.3.7.3. Therefore, Entergy Operations is providing this Special Report in accordance with the actions required by this technical specification.
