Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Unit 1 Docket No. 50-416 License No. NPF-13 File 0260/L-835.0 Special Report 83-073/0 - Fire Barriers in Control Room Not Installed AECM-83/0537 On July 26, 1983, during a special inspection of fire-rated assemblies, it was discovered that fire barriers in the Control Room were not installed at locations U714 LO67/68-LA38 and 0717 LO79/80-LA11. A fire watch was established in accordance with Technical Specification 3.7.7 until the barriers were installed on August 27, 1983.

This is reported as a Special Report pursuant to Technical Specification 6.9.2 since the seven (7) day Limiting Condition for Operation time limit was exceeded.

Material Nonconformance Report 00669-83 was issued to initiate corrective action. The event had no affect on the health and safety of the public and did not constitute a threat to plant safety. This is a final report.
