Update Report - Fire Door 1A401 Blocked Open AECM-83/0529 This is an update to a previous report submitted on May 20, 1983. The condition for which the report was submitted occurred on April 15, 1983, when fire door 1A401 (double-door entrance from Turbine Building to the Auxiliary Building, elevation 166 feet) was blocked open to prevent the possibility of personnel injury due to the high differential pressure across the door (opens rapidly and with force) and to ease access for plant personnel utilizing the pathway since this door was in heavy use. The high differential pressure is a result of the fact that this is a secondary containment boundary (secondary containment integrity is not required in the present plant mode-Cold Shutdown). Technical Specification 3.7.7 requires the door to be closed at all times. Since the door was blocked open for more than 7 days, this report was submitted as a Special Report pursuant to Technical Specification 6.9.2.

Fire door 1A401 was restored to operability on July 17, 1983. This is a final report.
