Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Unit 1 Docket No. 50-416 License No. NPF-13 File 0260/L-835.0 Special Report 83-046/0-Fire Door OC103 Inoperable AECM-83/0357 On May 15, 1983, during surveillance testing, fire door OC103 was found to be damaged and in a constant alarm state. The door latch mechanism was damaged as a result of heavy use. The door is still not repaired, therefore, this is being submitted as a Special Report pursuant to Technical Specification 6.9.2.

A maintenance work authorization has been issued to the field to repair the door and the work is expected to be completed by June 30, 1983. An hourly fire watch is being conducted and will be maintained until the door is restored to operation in accordance with Technical Specification 3.7.7. The event had no affect on the health and safety of the public and did not constitute a threat to plant safety.
