Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Unit 1 Docket No. 50-416 License No. NPF-13 File 0260/L-835.0 Special Report 83-045/0 - Fire Doors OC501 and Oc503 Blocked Open to Allow Performance of a Planned Maintenance Activity flCM-83/0345 On May 15, 1983, fire doors OC501 and OC503 on the east side of the Control Room were blocked open to allow the routing of hoses into the Control Room for the sealing of fire rated penetrations. A fire watch was established at the start of the planned maintenance activity and will be maintained for the duration in accordance with Technical Specification 3.7.7.

The doors were not closed by the seven day time limit of the action statement, therefore, this is being submitted as a Special Report pursuant to Technical Specification 6.9.2. The condition has no affect on the health and l safety of the public and does not constitute a threat to plant safety. The planned maintenance a :tivity is expected to be completed by July 25, 1983.
