Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Unit 1 Docket No. 50-416 License No. NPF-13 File 0260/L-835.0 Special Report 83-008/0 - Fire Door lA315 Alarmed and Would Not Reset AECM-83/0193 On February 18, 1983, during cold shutdown, fire door lA315 (electrical penetration room) alarmed ca the fire protection computer. After verification that the door was clorad, tne alarm was deactivated and voluntary entry into the action statement of Technical Specification 3.7.7 was initiated.

This condition had no affect on the health and safety of the public and did not constitute a threat to plant safety. Upon investigation, maintenance personnel found the magnet in the magnetic switch out of alignment. The magnet was adjusted and after a functional test the door was returned to operation. The 7 day time limit of the Limiting Condition for Operation was exceeded by 14 days. This is a Special Report submitted pursuant to Technical Specification 6.9.2.
