Dear Mr. Tarver:

On behalf of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), I am responding to your letters dated September 28, 2016, in which you appealed the agencys responses related to your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, FOIA/PA-2016-00714, FOIA/PA-2016-00735, FOIA/PA-2016-00736, FOIA/PA-2016-00737, FOIA/PA-2016-00738, FOIA/PA-2016-00739, FOIA/PA-2016-00740, and FOIA/PA-2016-00741 (copies enclosed). You appealed the fee waiver denials.

By letter dated October 12, 2016, in response to your appeal, FOIA/PA-2016-00160A, the Chief Information Officer affirmed your fee waiver request simply because you stated that you were a member of the media. These appeals, FOIA/PA-2016-00013A, FOIA/PA-2016-00014A, FOIA/PA-2016-00015A, FOIA/PA-2016-00016A, FOIA/PA-2016-00017A, FOIA/PA-2016-00018A, FOIA/PA-2016-00019A and FOIA/PA-2016-00020A (copies enclosed) raise the identical issue, for which you have exhausted your administrative remedies. Because these appeals present no new information in support of your assertion that you are a member of the media, and that the subject of the underlying requests satisfy if disclosure of the information is in the public interest because it is likely to contribute significantly to public understanding of the operations or activities of the government and is not primarily in the commercial interest of the requester 5 U.S.C. 552(a)(4)(A)(iii), we consider them to be duplicates. As such, we are administratively closing these files.

Sincerely, Stephanie Blaney /s/

Stephanie Blaney Acting FOIA Officer Office of the Chief Information Officer
