1. Scope /

Purpose:

This proj ect is to provide technical support to the Reactor Systens Branch in reviewing the accuracy and completeness of the Seabrook Proba-bilistic Safety Study (SPSS). BNL will perfonn a critical review of the plant design and PRA methods supplemented by audit calculations of selec-ted accident sequence

• to con fi nn the validity of the methods and resul ts.

2. Work Performed During Period:

A draft of the final report was submitted to the NRC Project Manaaer.

Meetings were held with the NRC Project Manager and the applicant to dis-cuss issues raised during the review.

3. Problems / Delays:

No problem areas.

4 Summary of Progress to Date/ Milestones-Task I: , Work is nearly complete on the review and evaluation of the "back-end" of the PRA for the Seabrook Nuclear Station. Two preliminary ,

reports have been submitted for review to the MlC Project Manager. Com- l ments have been received, and have been incorporated into a draft final  ;

report.

5. Next Reporting Period:

Comments from the NRC reviewers will be incorporated into the final report.
