NAY 14M MEMORANDUM FDR: Jesse N. Funches Director Progratr. and Planning Analysis Staff, NRR FRDM:
Roger J. Mattson, Director Division of Systems Jntegration
SUBJECT:
REQUEST FOR REALLOCATIDN DF7ECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FUNDS AND APPROVAL DF NEW-fROJECTS DSI conducted a inid-year resources review on April 30. 1984. As a result I have identified a few high-priority new projects for which I would like to initiate work in FY 1984. Project Identification Sumaries (PIDS) are attached. These proje::ts are:
1.
Evaluation of Licensee Confonnance to Beneric Letter 83-28 (Salem ATWS) (Two FINS) 2.
Review of J.icensee Submittals on BWR Primary System Pipe Cracks 3.
Review of the PRA for Seabrook n
=
4.
User's Guide for-PARTS Lomputcr ringram 5.
Clima+ ology of Extreme Winds in Scuthern California.x 6.
Tornado Climatology
)
I have also agreed to several inodifications to existing contracts as noted on the attached list. However'caupled with the increased new work, I am proposing to delay funding commitments on other projects where there have been contract delays or other problems which would cause excess carryover.
l As a result of these changes, DSI can return to the NRR Reserve Fund 561,000.
I would appreciate your prompt action on this request so that the contract actions can be initiated prior to June 1.
