NOTIFICATION OF SIGNIFICANT ENFORCEMENT XCTION Licensee: Georgia Power Company Docket No. 50-321 and 50-366

Subject:

PROPOSED IMPOSITION OF CIVIL PENALTY - $50,000 This is to inform the Commission that a Notice of Violation and Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalty in the amount of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000) will be issued on or about May 28, 1986 to Georgia Power Company. This action is based on multiple security violations. The violations involved computer failures and inadequate compensation at the protected and vital area barriers.

It should be noted that the licensee has not been specifically informed of the enforcement action. The Regional Administrator has been authorized by the Director, Office of Inspection and Enforcement, to sign this action. The schedule of issuance and notification is:

Mailing of Notice May 28, 1986 Telephone Notification of Licensee May 28, 1986 A news release has been prepared and will be issued 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> from the time the licensee receives the Notice. The State of Georgia will be notified.

The licensee has thirty days from the date of the Notice in which to respond.

Following NRC evaluation of the response, the civil penalty may be remitted, mitigated, or imposed by Order.
