Enclosed is a copy of the final exercise report for the North Anna  ;

Power Station, full participation plume and ingestion exposure '

pathway exercise of the offsite radiological emergency response plans site-specific to the North Anna Power Station. This report I addresses the evaluation of the plans and preparedness for the Commonwealth of Virginia's portions of the Emergency Planning Zone.

The Commonwealth of Virginia, the risk counties of Caroline, Hanover, Louisa, Orange and Spotsylvania, the North Anna ingestion jurisdictions of Albemarle, Amelia, Buckingham, culpeper, Cumberland, Essex, Fauquier, Fluvanna, Goochland, Green, Henrico, King George, King and Queen, King William, Madison, Page, Powhatan, Prince William, Rappahannock, Rockingham, Stafford, and Westmoreland Counties and the Cities of Charlottesville, and Fredericksburg in Virginia, and the North Anna ingestion jurisdiction of Charles County in the State of Maryland, and the Calvert Cliffs ingestion jurisdictions of Arlington, Fairfax, and Richmond Counties and the Cities of Alexandria and Falls Church in Virginia participated in this exercise. The final report was prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)

Region'III staff and a report will be forwarded to the Commonwealth of Virginia.

There were no Deficiencies identified during the July 23-25, August 1, and Aust 13-15, 1996 exercise. There were, however, twenty-four A % J Requiring Corrective Action (ARCA) identified during '

this e.? cise. FEMA will coordinate with the Commonwealth of  ;

Virginia to correct the ARCAs on or before the next scheduled I biennial exercise.

Based on the results of the July 23-25, August 1, and August 13-15, 1996 exercise, the offsite radiological emergency response plans and preparedness for the Commonwealth of Virginia and the affected risk counties and cities and ingestion jurisdictions and cities site-specific to the North Anna Power Station can be implemented.

Further, they are adequate to provide reasonable assurance that appropriate measures can be taken offsite to protect the health and safety of the public in the event of a radiological emergency at the site. The Title 44 CFR, Part 350, approval of the Commonwealth of Virginia offsite radiological emergency response plans and preparedness site-specific to North Anna Power Station granted on i February 23, 1983 will remain in effect.
