1. The Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station did not operate during the month of August 1984 as a result of the maintenance / refueling outage currently in progress.
2. Circulating water pumps 1-1 was operated on August 14-24, 1984.

Cir. ulating water pump 1-2 was operated on August 14-17, 31, 1984.

Circulating water pump 1-3 was operated on 1-5,16,17, and 24-31, 1984.

Circulating water pump 1-4 was operated on Augus* 17-31, 1984.

3. Dilution pump 1-1 was operated on August 3, 4, 5, 9,10 and 17, 1984. .

Dilution pump 1-2 was operated on August 4, 5, 9--17, 1984. l Dilution pump 1-3 was operated on August 3-5, 10-12, 14, 16, -

dnd 17,1984.

4. Tne main condensers were chlorinated August 10-31,1984 with a maximum chlorine value of .06 mg/1.
5. The dilution factar for Oyster Creek was six for all days during the month.
6. Due to operating and calibrating problems with the Continuous Chlorine Monitor, daily grab samples are taken with the analytical results determined by amperometric titration have resumed. This data is supplied with the monthly monitoring report as detailed in the letter to your office dated July 25,1977.
7. Tne value reported for total suspended solids, discharge DMW is the average value of the analysis of two aliquots of the same sample.
8. Possible noncompliance with item 10(b), exceeded two hour cnlorination time limit.

Possible nonccmpliance with item 10(b), page 7 of 20.

CAUSE OF NONCOMPLIANCE:

Possibility of the discnarge of chlorine from the 8 Soutn Condenser section. .

DESCRIPTION OF NONCOMPLYING DISCHARGE:

The timer which controls the chlorinetion cycle in eacn condenser section was out of service. An automatic switch used to control chlorine discharge per condenser was inadvertently placeu in the'on' mode ratner than the skip mode, which may have caused the 8 South Condenser section to discnarge chlorine for greater than a two hour period on August 20, 1984.

DURATION OF NONCOMPLIANCE:

Unknown CORRECTIVE ACTION TO REDUCE THE NONCOMPLYING DISCHARGE:

The automatic switch was reset to the skip mode.

CORRECTIVE ACTION TO PREVENT RECURRENCE:

The timer was repaired on August 21, 1984.
