SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 2 - ENVIRONME! CAL QUALIFICATION OF CLASS IE EQUIPMENT - NCR'S SQN EB 8009 THROUGH 8015 - THIRD I?CERIM REPORT The subject deficiency was initially reported to NRC-0IE Inspector C. H. McFarland en June 16, 1980, in accordance with 10 CFR 50.55(e).

Interim reports have been submitted en July 16 and Au6ust 11, 1980.

Enclosed is cur third interim mport. We expect to submit cur next report by November 21, 1980.

ENCLOSURE SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 2 ENVIRONME! RIAL QUALFIICATION OF IE EQl'IPMENT NCR'S SQN EEB 8009 THROUGH 8015 10 CFR 50.55(e)

THIRD INTERIM REPORT Interim Progress The status of the NCR's is as follows.

SQN EEB 8009 - The unqualified pressure switches on this NCR have been replaced with environmentally qualified switches.

SQN DEB 8010 - TVA is still gathering environmental qualification docu-mentation on these components from their vendors.

SQN EEB 8011 - TVA has acquired environmental qualification documentation for this solenoid valve from its vendor.

SQN EEB 8012 - The sdlenoid valves will be replaced with qualified valves at units 1 and 2.

SQN EEB 8013 - The I/P transducers will be relocated from the containment annulus to the auxiliary building.

SQN EEB 8014 - An identical hydrogen monitor from Watts Bar Nuclear Plant unit 2 is being tested. The test results will not be avail-able until November 1, 1980.

SQN EEB 8015 - TVA is still gathering environmental qualification documentation on these components from their vendors.
