NRC IE BULLETIN NO. 80-20 FAILURES OF WESTINGHOUSE TYPE W-2 SPRING RETURN TO NEUTRAL CONTROL SWITCHES SALEM GENERATING STATION UNITS NO. 1 AND~

DOCKET NOS.~~ND 50-311 In accordance with the requirements of IE Bulletin No. 80-20 a review of the Salem safety related systems indicates that there are three Westinghouse W-2 switches used for each unit. Their function is to provide local trip-close operation of the 4KV output breaker for each of the three diesel generators. The bulletin's specific concern is with the neutral switch contacts.
