SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FIFTH REFUELING OUTAGE i

SALEM GENERATING STATION UNIT 2 DOCKET NO. 50-311 Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G) hereby provides the supplemental information required by NRC Bulletin for'the s' %m Unit 2 fifth refueling outage.

This is the second consecutive refueling outage during which these inspections were performed.

NDE inspections of unisolable system connections to the Reactor Coolant System, susceptible to the thermal fatigue conditions t

identified in Bulletin 88-08 have been completed on Salem Unit 2.

In addition, thermal stratification concerns for the Pressurizer surge line were addressed.

Inspections of insulation, hangers, high energy break area and PT and UT inspections of all welds for large bore and small bore piping did not indicate any abnormalities.

A detailed test report is being prepared to document the results of each individual inspection.
