SUBJECT:

INTERIM LETTER REPORT FOR ANALYTICAL RESULTS FOR FOUR OF EIGHT WATER SAMPLES, BATCH FOUR, FROM THE VICINITY OF THE DRESDEN GENERATING STATION, DRESDEN, ILLINOIS [INSPECTION REPORT NO. 050-00237/2006-0071 (RFTA NO.06-001)

Dear MI. Snell:

The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) received eight water samples on May 31, 2006 which were coUected in the vicinity of the Dresden Generating Station in Dresden, Ihnois. The chain-of-custody identified the one water sample to be analyzed by gamma spectroscopy (GS), four samples to be analyzed for tritium, and four samples to be analyzed for total radiostrontium.

The four water samples were analyzed for tritium using a liquid scintillation analyzer at ORISE. The sample identifications and collection data are presented in Table 1. The GS data arc presented in Table 2. The tritium data are presented in Table 3. The pertinent procedure references are provided in the specific tables. The total radiostrontium data will be submitted in the final letter report for hatch four. ORISE's Quality Control (QC) requirements were met for these analyses.

The QC files are available for your review upon request. My contact information is listed below.
