ISSUANCE OF RENEWED FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NOS. NPF-87 AND NPF-89 FOR COMANCHE PEAK NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2

Dear Ken J. Peters:

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has issued Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. NPF-87 and NPF-89 to Vistra Operations Company LLC for Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant (Comanche Peak), Units 1 and 2, respectively. The NRC issued the renewed facility operating licenses upon completion of its review of your application dated October 3, 2022 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Package Accession No. ML22297A247), as supplemented by letters dated April 6, 2023 (ML23096A302),

April 24, 2023 (ML23114A377), and January 31, 2024 (ML24031A608).

Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. NPF-87 and NPF-89 for Comanche Peak expire at midnight on February 8, 2050, for Unit 1, and February 2, 2053, for Unit 2.

The technical basis for issuing the renewed facility operating licenses for Comanche Peak is set forth in Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant, Units 1 and 2, issued March 2024 (ML24078A230). to this letter is Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-87 and Technical Specifications for Comanche Peak, Unit 1. to this letter is Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-89 and Technical Specifications for Comanche Peak, Unit 2.

No changes were made to the Technical Specifications as a result of this license renewal.

The results of the environmental review related to the issuance of the renewed licenses are given in the record of decision provided as Enclosure 3 to this letter and in NUREG-1437, Supplement 60, Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear July 30, 2024 Plants Regarding License Renewal of Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant, issued April 2024 (ML24078A261). is a draft copy of the related Federal Register notice of issuance of the renewed licenses as sent to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
