- \ SUPPLE'!ENTARY INFORMATION Report No.: 50-302/79-024/03L-0 Facility: Crystal River Unit 13 Report Date: 2 April 1979 Occurrence Date: 15 March 1979 Identificatis n of Occurrence:

Meteorological nonitoring instrumentation channels inoperable contrary to Technical Specification 3.3.3.4.

Conditions Prior to Occurrence:

Mode 5 operation, Plant E!c a t u p .

Description of Occurrence:

At 1940, during plant heatup, it was discovered that the temperature device at the 175' level of the meteorological monitoring tower was producing erratic indication. Instrumen-tation troubleshoot ing revealed no apparent cause and no cor-rective maintenance was required. Functional testing was performed through meteorological System Surveillance SP-137 from 17 March to 22 March with satisfactory results. The temperature device was returned to service at 0800 on 22 March 1979.

Designation of Apparent Cause:

tae cause of this event cannot be determined.

Analysis of Occurrence:

There was no hazard to the plant or general 511c as no gaseous releases were in progress.

Corrective Action Meteorological System Surveillance SP-157 was performed satis-factorily and the device returned to service at 0800 on 22 March 1979. No further corrective action required.

Failure Data:

Third occurrence reported for this device. Reference LER's 78-26 and 78-56.
