Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 1 Docket No. 50-334 Response to June 27, 1979 Request For Additional Information Gentlemen:

Your letter dated June 27, 1979 requesting additional information concerning our Inservice Inspection Program has been reviewed.

Our proposed program indicated that portions of the systems noted below would not be subjected to rendestructive examination requirements of IWC-2520 of Section XI of the ASME code:

1. SIS accumulators and associated piping
2. Piping from the high head safety injection pump to the RWST
3. Boron injection system
4. Containment spray system We will include examination of these systems as an augmented examination requirement pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55a(g)(6)(ii) as requested. Our initial review indicates there are no major problems with the inspection of these systems. However, we may require exemptions to small portions of these systems that will be impractical to examine due co inaccessibility. We will request any such exemption after we perform a more detailed walkdown to formalize the inspection program by the end of the fall refteling.
