MF7797) On June 30, 2016, a Category 1 public teleconference was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and representatives of NextEra Energy Duane Arnold, LLC at NRC Headquarters, One White Flint North, 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland. The purpose of the teleconference was to discuss a license amendment request (LAR) for change in Duane Arnold Energy Center (DAEC) Emergency Plan (EP) staff augmentation response times. The licensee provided slides (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML 16167A025) for this pre-application teleconference. The slides were published as part of the meeting notice (ADAMS Accession No. ML 16168A085), dated June 15, 2016. The licensee provided the outline of the proposed submittal to change the DAEC EP augmentation response times. It was pointed out during the meeting that not all augmentation time changes will be requested in the respective manner from 30 to 60, and from 60 to 90 minutes. The licensee will review the other similar changes to E-plans previously approved by the NRC. The NRC staff asked several clarifying questions and provided their insights into the several existing guidance documents and other aspects for consideration, prior to the submittal. The licensee provided their schedule for submittal as prior to end of September 2016, with requested approval by end of 2017. There were members of the public who participated in the conference. Public Meeting Feedback forms were offered but not requested by anyone.
