IE Bulletin No. 83-01 required action of all licensees of operating pressurized water nuclear power reactor facilities to assure proper operation of Westinghouse DB type circuit breakers to trip open on receipt of an j automatic trip signal from the reactor protection system.

As operator of Salem No. 1 Unit, involved in the subject failure, Public Service Electric and Gas Company

("PSE&G") has responded to both the failure and to IE
